

She began her law enforcement career with the Los Angeles County Marshal’s Department (which later merged with the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department.) In her spare time, Montejano enjoys photography and a healthy lifestyle emphasizing outdoor activities, including jogging, hiking and mountain biking. At the age of 21, she graduated from Rio Hondo Police Academy.

It was Montejano’s desire to have a positive effect on gender equality, as well as her strong sense of justice, that led her to this decision. She attended California State University Los Angeles and then moved into a career in law enforcement. Montejano is a native of Mexico and grew up in Los Angeles.
